Lesson 1 – The MAST Permit CLONE

LESSON 1 – THE MAST PERMIT

As a bartender, server or manager of an establishment that sells and serves alcoholic beverages, it is important to realize that the state of Washington is entrusting you with a great deal of responsibility. The state relies on you to help keep our communities safe when serving alcohol by knowing and following the liquor laws and regulations set forth by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board. By fully understanding what the state requires of you as an alcohol provider, you will be well-equipped to ensure that your guests consume alcohol in a safe and responsible manner. As a result you will also be able to protect yourself against potential penalties and liabilities that could arise when the law is not followed.

This section has three objectives:

  • Objective 1 – Understand why MAST is required in Washington State
  • Objective 2 – Learn and be able to identify the uses of different types of MAST permits
  • Objective 3 – Become aware of the grace period and other important deadlines to stay in compliance with state laws
